Counselling for Children Who Witness Domestic Violence (French only)

This program serves to help French speaking children and adolescents aged 6 to 15 and their mothers who have been exposed to, witnessed, or are victims of domestic abuse.

The children’s program offers both individual and group counseling. This program helps children understand abuse against women; find positive ways to share feelings and handle conflict; reduce shame and fear; and discuss safety planning. Mothers are also offered individual and group counselling. The focus is on helping mothers understand the impact of woman abuse on children; providing resources regarding custody and access issues; addressing self-esteem and self-care; and discussing safety planning for themselves and their child(ren).

There is no cost for this program.

Financial help is available if needed for transportation and babysitting. Language interpretation and sign language interpretation available as needed.
